About this Product
Poppies have always been special to me. My grandfather, Poppy, always had these flowers in his car. He would buy one from the veterans whenever they were seeking donations and now I do the same. This painting reminded me of him and the poppies he always proudly displayed in his car.

Meet the Maker
As an artist, I believe education should be an important part of everyone’s journey, whether through a traditional university, or in my case, through live studio workshops and on-line courses. I study art daily to hone my skills and create paintings that are realistic and aesthetically pleasing without limiting my work to one medium or concept, as inspiration and ideas are ever-changing. My resulting works are influenced by experiences and little wisdoms gained along the way.
Each of my paintings captures something tangible that has spoken to me through the beauty of everyday life: people, places, spaces, flowers and landscapes - and I imbue my work with those fragments of myself I wish to share with the world. I long to build an art practice that encompasses this passion, and create art that is authentic, enchanting and sublime, fulfilling my dream of sharing these found parts of myself with others.
How it’s Made
I painted this poppy painting with pastels and pastel pencils on pastel mat. I love the bright orange and yellows contrasted by the greens and purples in the background. I am very proud of the way this piece turned out. The background is a little abstract but I think it helps to make the flowers seem more realistic and stand out.
The size of the piece is approximately 15 inches by 5 inches and is unframed.
